Which God or Goddess will drink the blood of their own creation ? Animals are the most beloved creatures for Gods. All Hindu Gods are associated with some or other animal. Lord Shiva wears a snake, Lord Vishnu raid on an Eagle and Lord Brahma love Swan. Lord Murugan loves peacock, Lord Ganesh is the combined form of Elephant and Man. Then, which God will appreciate this blood bath?
For that matter Islam and Christianity also prohibit slaughtering animals.

I agree wholeheartedly.
I really am shocked by this. I guess I think Hinduism is all about caring for animals, not eating meat and all. My Hindu friends would NEVER participate in anything like this. It's hard to change people's beliefs though, and that's what you have to do. Banning it won't help, people have to change their beliefs.
